Light, Shade, and Shadow
with Ann Shaw

This class is best preceded by the Straight Line beginners class, but it is not essential.  Using a variety of media, students will learn the meaning and application of light, shade, and shadow, and how to create the illusion of three-dimensional form on a two-dimensional surface.

Ann Shaw holds a Master's degree from Parsons School of Design and Bank Street College of Education, NYC, and for many years attended the Art Students' League, NYC.  For 15 years Ann taught drawing, painting, and design at New Canaan High School, CT, and in the early 90s owned Sun Gallery in Nantucket, MA.  She is delighted to have the time to pursue her own oil painting, and is a partner in Las Pintaras de Boca Grande, a studio in the Depot building.
